HHB and Mogami donate 5.000 pounds to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal
HHB Communications and Japanese cable manufacturer Mogami presented a cheque for 5,000 pounds that will be donated to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal at IBC 2011.
The donation is a result of the recent appointment of HHB as Mogami’s exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland. HHB pledged that it would donate 10 per cent of the proceeds from all Mogami cable sales made from the beginning of the partnership earlier this year up to the IBC 2011 trade show. HHB’s large stock of Mogami cables and the popularity of the product have already made it possible for HHB to exceed 50,000 pounds in sales and donate 5,000 to the Red Cross.
The cheque was presented by HHB MD Ian Jones and Mogami’s President of Sales Lew Hirabayashi during a press ceremony held on the first day of the show on the HHB Stand in Hall 8 (Stand 8.D56).
“We are delighted to help our friends, industry colleagues and all the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan with this donation,” says HHB MD Ian Jones. “Our partnership with Mogami has already been a great success and we know that the money we are donating will be put to good use by the Red Cross.”
Luckily no one from Mogami was directly affected by the earthquake, but it has changed the lives of 91,000 families in Japan. In addition to providing adequate healthcare for all who need it, the Red Cross has made it a priority to restore a sense of normality for people who have lost family members, homes and livelihoods.
Mogami’s President of Sales Lew Hirabayashi comments: “We are very grateful to be able to present this cheque to the Red Cross. Our partnership with HHB has been beneficial to both parties and we are happy to support the people affected by the earthquake and help rebuild a great and essential part of Japan.”
Mogami has earned a reputation as the cable of professionals, with a product range that now encompasses microphone, speaker, guitar, coaxial, video and digital interfacing cables, along with analogue and digital snakes.
HHB and Scrub, its Soho-based division specialising in serving the post production industry, are showing the latest professional broadcast audio products at IBC 2011 in the front of Hall 8. HHB is debuting important new product announcements from co-exhibitors TC Electronic and Wohler, in addition to new products from Dolby, Mogami, Olympus, PreSonus, SoundField, Studio Technologies and Roland.
